As we continue with our "Going Green" theme, Shanna came up with this fantastic idea of making windmills out of recycled paper, and decorate them with blown splatter painting. The connections with how the kids used their breath to paint these paper windmills and how we can use the wind as energy was pretty brilliant.

The kids really got into this project, and those of us who worked next store could hear the squeals of excitement as the kids blew through straws to paint their paper. The kids then learned how to fold a large windmill which they mounted on a larger piece of paper, and then they created a smaller windmill to add to a stick so that they could once again use their breath to move the paper. It was a very exciting project!
